Who does google think you are?

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Inspired by Marketing magazine’s regular piece ‘who does google think you are?’, I googled myself.

A bit narcissistic, yes, but also very enlightening.  I must have a pretty unusual surname as I appear to be unique on google – and my earlyish adoption of social media seems to have paid off too as page one of my google results features my blog, linkedin, facebook, twitter and flickr.  “Dream results” as the lovely Lisa (LW on our twitter feed) put it.

Try it yourself – and not just for your own name but your business or brand too.  Like what comes up?  Or is the stuff you’d really like people to find, like your website and great customer reviews stuck on page five?

One of the great things about working with an online PR specialist like OnVisible is that they can help you be more visible (geddit?) on the web by creating and seeding compelling content.  And of course, visibility on the web really means starting with getting your google results pointing in the right direction.
